              • A phrase is a group of words that stand together as a single grammatical unit,
typically as part of another phrase, a clause, or a sentence.

                   For example, special oath

                                     cleverer than him
These phrases are a group of one or two words and convey a short, single piece
                   of information.

                   Now read these sentences.

Eric believed that Cosmos was cleverer than him.

A Clause consists of a larger piece of information. It has a subject and a verb.
The highlighted parts of the sentences are clauses.
