Roald Dahl (1916-1990) was a British novelist, short-story writer, and screenwriter of Norwegian
descent. Born in Wales, Dahl served as a fighter pilot during World War II. His writing career
took off in the 1940s with stories for both children and adults. He gained international fame
for classics like “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Matilda,” and “James and the Giant
Peach”. Dahl’s works are known for their dark humor and vivid imagination. He received
