Listening Text
Journalist (J) : Good day, Commander. Thank you for granting me this interview. Could
you please share with our readers what inspired you to pursue a career
in the military?
Commander (C) : Good day. It’s my pleasure. I come from a family with a long tradition of
military service. Hearing stories from my grandparents about duty and
honor sparked my own passion for serving my country.
Journalist (J) : That’s fascinating. Can you tell us about a pivotal moment in your career
that shaped your leadership style?
Commander (C) : Certainly. Early in my career, I faced a challenging mission that required
swift decision-making. It taught me the importance of clear communication
and decisive action under pressure, values I carry with me to this day.
Journalist (J) : Those are valuable lessons. Speaking of challenges, can you recount a par-
ticularly difficult situation you’ve faced and how you managed to overcome
it?
Commander (C) : One of the most challenging moments was during a peacekeeping mission
in a hostile region. Diplomatic tensions were high, and we had to maintain
calm and cooperation. Through open dialogue and a show of goodwill,
we managed to defuse the situation and maintain peace.
Journalist (J) : Impressive. Lastly, what advice do you have for young individuals aspir-
ing to a career in the military?
Commander (C) : I’d advise them to cultivate a strong sense of duty, resilience, and a com-
mitment to continuous learning. Surround yourself with a supportive team,
and never underestimate the power of clear communication and strategic
thinking.
Journalist (J) : Thank you, Commander, for sharing your insights and experiences with
us. Your dedication is truly commendable.
Commander (C) : Thank you. It’s been my pleasure. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve
and lead, and I hope to inspire others on their own journeys of service.
