Mastering Grammar
• A sentence is a group of words that expresses or provides a complete meaning.
There are five types of sentences.
A sentence which says or states something is called an assertive or a declarative
sentence.
for example: Ravi and Sameer did everything together .
• Assertive sentences that affirm facts are called positive or affirmative sentences.
for example: Ravi and Sameer were inseparable friends.
• Negative sentences that deny or negative facts are called negative sentences.
for example: Sameer was not adventurous like Ravi.
• A sentence that expresses a command , a request or advice is called an imperative
sentence.
for example: Please give me the Treasure map.
