There are four forms of present tense.

Tense Example Explanation

Simple Present I play football. The action is a routine or
a fact.
Present Continuous I am playing football. The action is continuing at
the time of speaking.

Present Perfect I have played football. The action was completed
in the recent past.

Present Perfect I have been playing The action started in the
Continuous football. past and is still going on
in the present.

1. Rikki-Tikki-Tavi is a brave mongoose living in a lush garden in India.
2. He fights fearlessly to protect his family from dangerous cobras, Nag and

Nagaina.
3. Rikki-Tikki-Tavi overhears Nagaina whispering about her plan to attack the
humans.
4. He has left behind a legacy of heroism, becoming a beloved protector of the
garden.
5. The other animals in the garden have been admiring Rikki-Tikki-Tavi for his
courage and bravery.
