              Listening Text
“Rikki-Tikki-Tavi” is a story by Rudyard Kipling about a brave mongoose named Rikki-
Tikki-Tavi, who is adopted by a family living in a garden in India. When two dangerous
cobras, Nag and Nagaina, threaten the family and the garden’s inhabitants, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi
takes it upon himself to protect them. Despite being bitten by one of the cobras, he remains
determined and resolute. Rikki-Tikki-Tavi outsmarts the cobras and destroys their eggs,
successfully eliminating the threat. The story teaches the importance of courage, loyalty,
and intelligence in overcoming challenges. Rikki-Tikki-Tavi is hailed as a hero and leaves a
legacy of bravery in the garden.
