            C. Think and Answer.
                  1. Analyse Grandfather’s decision to bring Timothy home. What were the possible
risks and benefits of raising a wild animal like Timothy?
                  2. Analyse the father had to consider factors before deciding to give Timothy
to a zoo. How did he strike a balance between his love for Timothy and the
                        dangers Timothy’s rising aggression posed?

            D. Answer these questions with reference to context.

                   1. Timothy had to be chained up more often. And finally, when he began to stalk

Mahmoud about the house with what looked like villainous intent, Grandfather
decided it was time to transfer him to a zoo.
                        (a) Why did Timothy need to be chained up more frequently?
                        (b) What behaviour of Timothy led Grandfather to make the decision to
                              transfer him to a zoo?

                  2. Grandfather took what seemed to him an age to withdraw his hand from the
cage. With his face near the tiger’s he mumbled, “Good night, Timothy,” and
giving the keeper a scornful look walked briskly out of the zoo.

                        (a) Describe Grandfather’s emotions and actions as he withdrew his hand
                              from the cage.
                        (b) How did Grandfather bid farewell to Timothy, and what was his reaction
towards the zoo keeper as he left?

                        Listening Well Listening for Understanding

            E. Listen to the story carefully and arrange the given incidents in the order

                 they appeared in the story.
